itunes: cover art grabbing (osx)
a nice tool to grab cover art from amazon(.co.uk/.com/.de/.jp): clutter. finds most covers from major label releases and adds it to all the album tracks with just a single click. too bad it doesn’t find every album. also working but a bit more complicated (and using the same resources afaik): Fetch Art. another approach: “search slothradio”. finds more covers but is a lot more complicated to use. i use clutter and if there’s no hit, “search slothradio” to get my covers.
and afterwards, if you got some covers for your itunes library, try out the itunes screensaver (already installed if you use itunes 6.0+). stylish, i must admit. for the enthusiasts, there’s a script which allows you to get access to the highres front covers from the itunes store. only problem: those covers are quite large in size. i read something about 400kb jpegs. well .. this would enlarge my collection quite much, since the cover art is added to every single mp3/aac file. all cover art added about 200mb to my 40gb library until now, using no hifi pix (amazon..). and you sometimes have stickers or “this cd is for promotional purposes only”-disclaimers on it. but well .. i don’t care. some people do. who cares. :)
